About Writing

It is a medium which can craft reality and provide affluent knowledge. At its best it can be beautiful and compelling and at its worse, be confusing and unpersuasive. One has to appreciate the POWER of the WRITTEN word.

I hope to enlighten and inspire people through my writing...and knock their socks off. If I can have everyone who reads my prose walking around barefoot, then I know I will have done a good job.

It's 2:00 AM, I'm crazy hot!! Having trouble sleeping. It must be 95 degrees in my room. My pores are leaking. Went downstairs to stick my head in the fridge. Hmmm...found some green grapes...soooo wet and sweet. I fall back in my chair and swoon.

I dared to dream, but reality came through the door one day. An unsettling chill sat upon me. The awakening came suddenly and dramatically. In my resolve, I am free. But this independence is somber.

Delivering Clear Ideas through Good Writing

There is an affliction in the land. Say not a word lest you come down with it. The English language and the written word continue to be languishing in muddled and hackneyed phrases. The prevalent use of ready-made phrases and worn-out metaphors are evidence of complacency and minimal effort. The pre-cast templates for ideas are unimaginative and slothful and should be considered very poor English. Poor writing is indicative of carelessness and confusion at times. If the verbiage is vague, it is open to various interpretations and the correct meaning could be lost. Good writing creates an environment of care in communicating clear and concrete ideas.

I probably bastardize the English language as effortlessly as anyone, but I aspire to become brilliant! I have an idea of how to construct good written prose, but alas I fall prey to lethargy. I shall continue to compose script and hone my craft. I believe the written language is beautiful and compelling. It is a powerful medium which can create reality and provide a wealth of knowledge.

Needing and Trusting

Trusting a Need

Two trusting friends
Should never feel as though
One is being used
And the other is taking advantage.
If you have a true need
And I can fulfill that need,
Then we have communicated
An obligatory trust.
In your time of real need,
You are not taking advantage of me.
And in my desire to fulfill that need,
I am not being used.

Needing to Trust

In my time of need,
I am vulnerable, I am exposed.
I will attempt to cover myself
With one hand
And with the other
I reach out to you
Needing to trust
And become willing
To receive it.
